Methods and software

The methods adopted and recommended practices for direct statistical surveys or surveys based on administrative sources performed within Istat and Sistan, survey techniques, sampling, acquisition and codification of data: these are all available in the guidelines (in Italian language) for learning about survey methods, correct interpretation of the results and the production of statistical information.

It is also possible to find software for statistical production. The purpose is to facilitate the applicability of techniques and methods, thus ensuring the productive functions of the surveys. The software is accompanied by supporting documentation providing examples of potential applications.

A space is dedicated to deseasonalisation (in Italian language) and the concatenation technique (in Italian language) for estimating economic growth.

In the catalogue of publications it is possible to find all of Istat’s published volumes which contain the standards and classifications adopted in carrying out surveys, as well as the management of methodological aspects and the various software programs used.
