Social security and social services statistics

The first volume of the yearbook Social security and social services statistics focuses on retirement statistics and gives a complete report about the number and the amount of pensions provided in both private and public sectors. The Pensions central register is the source of data. Furthermore, the volume provides two specific in-depth studies.

The first one analyzes data about the various set of pensions according to the traditional classification used in Italy.

The second one shows data organized by economic function, that is by kind of risk covered by the social security system.

Data published are drawn up according to the ESSPROS Manual (European System of Integrated Social Protection Statistics).

The enclosed CD-ROM contains data for 2007 classified according to the national breakdown of pensions. They are broken down by pensioners’ age classes and by monthly pension income classes. It also includes the breakdown of the number of pensions at the provincial level and their gross yearly amount according to the characteristics of the classification system used.

Tables contained in the CD-ROM are in Excel format.

How to buy the print edition

The print edition, when ready, will be available in the Statistical Information Centres, located in every Italian region and autonomous province, in the bookshops collaborating with Istat or by filling out the appropriate order form.
